INTRODUCTION

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites operated by or on behalf of Lanier Trial Academy (“we” or “us” or “our”), including any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related or connected thereto (collectively, the “Sites”), as well as your registration for and participation in the Lanier Trial Academy.

Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Sites, registering for the Lanier Trial Academy, purchasing products or services through the Sites, or otherwise participating in activities related to the Lanier Trial Academy, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not access or use the Sites.

We reserve the right to make changes to these Terms at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last Updated” date of these Terms. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms on the Sites.

You are encouraged to periodically review these Terms to stay informed of updates. Your continued use of the Sites after revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

USE OF THE SITES

The Sites provide information and services related to the Lanier Trial Academy, including conference registration, event programming, Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) information, accommodations, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, networking opportunities, products, services, and other related resources.

You agree to use the Sites only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the Sites in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Sites or interfere with another person’s use and enjoyment of the Sites.

You agree that any information you provide through the Sites will be accurate, current, and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of information associated with your account, registration, purchases, or other interactions with the Sites.

USER IDs & PASSWORDS

Certain areas of the Sites may require the use of a user ID, email address, or password as an additional security measure that helps to protect your information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur through your account. You agree to notify us if you become aware of unauthorized access to or use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to an account if we reasonably believe that the account has been compromised, used fraudulently, or used in violation of these Terms.

REGISTRATION

Registration for the Lanier Trial Academy may require you to provide personal, professional, billing, and other information necessary to process your registration and provide conference-related services.

You agree to provide accurate and complete registration information. Registration is subject to availability and any eligibility requirements, pricing, deadlines, attendee restrictions, policies, or other conditions presented during the registration process or on the Sites.

Registration may remain available until the conference begins; however, space is limited and registration is not guaranteed. We reserve the right to close registration when capacity is reached.

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or modify a registration when reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, payment issues, duplicate registrations, failure to meet attendee eligibility requirements, violation of event policies, or other circumstances affecting the operation, integrity, or security of the Lanier Trial Academy.

ATTENDEE RESTRICTIONS

The Lanier Trial Academy is intended primarily for attorneys engaged in civil plaintiff representation.

It is strictly prohibited for an individual to attend the conference if that individual or any member of their law firm is associated with or working in any way connected to the defense of any case or case type that may be covered at the conference without express permission from The Lanier Law Firm.

Registrants must also confirm that they do not work with or on behalf of any company that seeks reimbursement from plaintiff settlement proceeds for medical, secondary payer, or subrogation liens of any type.

We reserve the right to deny or revoke registration if a registrant does not satisfy applicable attendee eligibility requirements.

PURCHASES & PAYMENTS

Financial information, such as data related to your payment method, may be collected when you register, purchase, order, or otherwise conduct a transaction through the Sites.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and payment information for transactions made through the Sites. You authorize us and our applicable payment processors or service providers to process charges associated with your registration, purchase, or order.

We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, modify prices, refuse transactions, or cancel purchases when reasonably necessary.

Payment processing may be performed by third-party service providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to the applicable provider’s terms, conditions, and privacy policies.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations received at least thirty (30) days before the event will receive a full refund minus any applicable processing fee.

After this period, registration fees are non-refundable.

Ticket transfers between individuals are permitted up to fifteen (15) days prior to the event. Ticket transfers to a future event are permitted until the event begins. Once the event begins, ticket transfers are strictly prohibited.

Requests involving cancellations, refunds, or ticket transfers should be submitted using the contact information provided below.

EVENT PROGRAMMING

Conference schedules, speakers, sessions, activities, exhibitors, sponsors, venues, CLE opportunities, and other event details are subject to change.

While we make reasonable efforts to provide accurate and current event information, we do not guarantee that every advertised speaker, session, activity, exhibitor, sponsor, or other event component will occur exactly as originally published.

We reserve the right to make substitutions, scheduling changes, program modifications, venue changes, or other adjustments when necessary.

CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION

The Lanier Trial Academy may seek Continuing Legal Education (“CLE”) accreditation in states with relevant requirements. Credit hours and eligibility may vary based on each state’s specific accreditation criteria and requirements.

CLE applications may be submitted before or after the course date depending on the applicable jurisdiction. We do not guarantee that every attendee will qualify for a specific number or type of CLE credit in every jurisdiction.

Attendees are responsible for complying with the CLE requirements applicable to their jurisdiction, including any attendance, reporting, documentation, or other requirements.

PRE-CONFERENCE & SPECIAL EVENTS

Certain pre-conference events, recreational activities, networking opportunities, tours, or other special events may be available to registered attendees.

Some activities may require a separate RSVP or registration and may have limited capacity. Participation may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If an activity reaches capacity, a waitlist may be made available. Certain activities may occur at overlapping times, and attendees are responsible for reviewing schedules before making their selections.

Additional terms, waivers, fees, eligibility requirements, or participation conditions may apply to individual activities.

HOTEL & TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

Information regarding hotels, accommodations, transportation, and travel may be provided through the Sites for the convenience of Lanier Trial Academy attendees.

Hotel reservations and travel arrangements may be made directly with third-party providers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, those arrangements constitute agreements between you and the applicable hotel, airline, transportation provider, or other third party.

Hotel room blocks, discounted rates, reservation deadlines, availability, cancellation policies, and other accommodation terms are determined by the applicable hotel or provider and are subject to change.

We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, cancellations, policies, fees, or services of third-party hotels, transportation providers, or other travel providers.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Unless otherwise indicated, the Sites and their content, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, audio, designs, software, trademarks, service marks, and other materials, are owned by us, our affiliates, our licensors, or other authorized parties and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may access and use the Sites and their content for your personal, informational, and non-commercial use in connection with the Lanier Trial Academy.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, republish, transmit, sell, license, publicly display, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit content from the Sites without prior written authorization from the applicable rights holder, except as permitted by law.

You may not access or use the Sites for any purpose other than that for which we make the Sites available.

As a user of the Sites, you agree not to:

  • Use the Sites in violation of any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
  • Provide false, misleading, fraudulent, or inaccurate information.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Sites, accounts, servers, systems, or networks.
  • Use automated systems, bots, scrapers, or similar technologies to access or collect information from the Sites without authorization.

  • Interfere with the operation, security, performance, or availability of the Sites.
  • Attempt to impersonate another user, person, or entity.
  • Collect usernames, email addresses, personal information, or other information about users without authorization.

  • Use the Sites to distribute unauthorized advertising, spam, solicitations, or promotional materials.
  • Copy, reproduce, or exploit Site content in violation of intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to circumvent security-related features of the Sites.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may use third-party service providers to support the Sites and the Lanier Trial Academy, including providers of payment processing, event registration, data analysis, email delivery, website hosting, customer service, marketing, analytics, accommodations, and other services.

Your interactions with third-party providers may be subject to their own terms, conditions, and privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before providing personal or financial information to a third party.

THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

The Sites may contain links to third-party websites and applications of interest, including advertisements, external services, registration systems, hotels, and other resources that are not affiliated with or controlled by us.

Once you use these links to leave the Sites, your interaction with those third parties is governed by their applicable terms and policies.

We are not responsible for the content, privacy and security practices, availability, products, services, policies, or activities of third-party websites or applications that may be linked to or from the Sites.

PRIVACY POLICY

We respect the privacy of our users. Our collection, use, disclosure, and safeguarding of information obtained through the Sites is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Please review the Lanier Trial Academy Privacy Policy for information regarding the types of information we collect, how that information may be used and disclosed, tracking technologies, third-party services, security practices, communications, and your options regarding your information.

EMAILS & COMMUNICATIONS

Users may provide an email address in order to receive services, obtain products, register for the Lanier Trial Academy, and receive information made available through the Sites.

We may email users with information about our products, services, events, registrations, and other information that we believe may be of interest to them.

Where applicable, emails will provide users with an opportunity to opt out of receiving that type of email message in the future.

Opting out of marketing communications does not prevent us from sending communications necessary to administer your registration, account, purchases, transactions, or participation in the Lanier Trial Academy.

MOBILE MESSAGING TERMS

The mobile messaging service (the “Service”) is operated by the organization identified on this website (“we,” “our,” or “us”). The organization manages all mobile messaging on behalf of its affiliated brands and events, which may include—but are not limited to—various associations, conferences, or membership programs under its management.

By opting in to receive SMS/text messages from us, you agree to these Mobile Terms. We may update, modify, or discontinue the Service or any of its features at any time without notice. To the extent permitted by law, we may also revise these terms, and your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated terms.

By providing your mobile number and consenting to receive messages, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from or on behalf of the organizations listed above. These may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or similar technology and may include both service-related messages, such as alerts, updates, and account notifications, and promotional messages, such as special offers, event announcements, and marketing communications.

Your consent to receive these messages is not a condition of purchase, and participation is completely voluntary.

We do not charge for the Service, but standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Message frequency may vary based on your interactions with us. You are solely responsible for any charges related to text messaging.

You may opt out of the Service at any time by texting STOP or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message, if available. After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message. No further messages will be sent unless you reinitiate contact.

If you are subscribed to more than one mobile program operated by Legal Associations Management, Inc., you must opt out of each program separately.

For support or assistance with the Service, reply to a text with HELP or contact us here.

We may change the phone number or short code used for messaging at any time and will provide notice of such changes. Messages sent to an outdated number or short code may not be received, and we are not responsible for honoring requests made to retired numbers.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide a valid and current mobile number. If your number changes, you must re-enroll with the new number to continue receiving messages.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any delayed, failed, or misdirected delivery of messages, any errors in the content of those messages, or any actions you take based on the information provided through the Service.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. For more information about how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

SECURITY

We implement commercially reasonable security measures designed to protect against unauthorized access, unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You acknowledge that information transmitted through the Sites is provided at your own risk.

POLICY FOR CHILDREN

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to anyone under the age of 18. If you become aware of any data we have collected from any person under age 18, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

EVENT CHANGES, POSTPONEMENT & CANCELLATION

We reserve the right to modify, postpone, reschedule, relocate, or cancel the Lanier Trial Academy or any related session, program, activity, speaker appearance, or event component when reasonably necessary.

We also reserve the right to modify the format of the event, including converting all or part of the event to a virtual, hybrid, or alternative format when circumstances reasonably require such a change.

If the event is materially changed, postponed, rescheduled, or canceled, information regarding available registration options will be communicated to affected registrants as appropriate.

DISCLAIMER

The Sites and the information, content, products, services, and resources made available through the Sites are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

While we make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and current information, we do not warrant that the Sites will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components, or that information presented through the Sites will always be complete, accurate, or current.

Conference information, schedules, speakers, CLE information, exhibitors, sponsors, pricing, availability, accommodations, and other event details may change without notice.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lanier Trial Academy and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your access to or use of the Sites or your participation in the Lanier Trial Academy.

This includes, to the extent permitted by applicable law, losses arising from Site interruptions, errors, third-party services, unauthorized access, loss of data, event modifications, travel arrangements, accommodation arrangements, or reliance on information made available through the Sites.

INDEMNIFICATION

You agree, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lanier Trial Academy and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, contractors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Sites, violation of applicable law, or violation of the rights of another person or entity.

MODIFICATIONS & INTERRUPTIONS

We reserve the right to change, modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Sites at any time when reasonably necessary.

We cannot guarantee that the Sites will be available at all times. We may experience hardware, software, hosting, network, maintenance, security, or other issues that result in interruptions, delays, or errors.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for loss or inconvenience caused by an inability to access or use the Sites during an interruption or discontinuance.

TERMINATION

We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Sites if we reasonably determine that you have violated these Terms, applicable law, attendee eligibility requirements, event policies, or the rights of another person or entity.

We may also revoke or deny event participation where reasonably necessary to protect the safety, integrity, confidentiality, or operation of the Lanier Trial Academy.

Termination of access does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination or provisions of these Terms that by their nature should continue after termination.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and your use of the Sites are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict of law principles.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Sites, the Lanier Trial Academy, our business practices, applicable services, or other operational requirements.

Changes become effective when the revised Terms are posted on the Sites unless otherwise stated. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.
